Etsy Store

It's been a while since I've posted something new on my blog, things have definitely been busy. Don't worry though I haven't stopped working on art, in fact I just opened an etsy store online where I have some prints of my art posted to sell. Check it out at www.ElvenGrove.etsy.com

I'm loving this spring weather and always look forward to the next time I visit home which will be Easter so with those two things on my mind I thought I would create a cute fantasy/spring/Easter illustration. I may do more with this same idea because it's just fun and I think works well in my portfolio. I am also trying to work more with my watercolor skills. I hope everyone is enjoying Spring!

Leo

I've done self portraits in the past but never really liked them so I wanted to try and do one that I actually like and says something about me. So if you can't tell my sun sign is Leo and my moon sign is Sagittarius, both fire signs. As I get older I begin to see these signs traits in my personality more. I also love nature so I placed myself outside among the trees! I wanted my gaze to look off and up to a hopefully positive future. This was done in pastels.

Mermaid!

Finally something new! This has actually been done for a little while now but I don't have a scanner and tried to use one at the school library but it didn't work out so I just decided to use my digital camera. No real story behind this one, I just love mermaids and the creatures with her are just something I made up, similar to the creatures in my girl in a messy kitchen illustration.I was doing so much digital illustration in my last semester I decided to go back to the more traditional and do this in watercolor.

Art to come soon!

My apologies for not posting anything for a while, I've been busy trying to get my life together now that I do not have the comfort of knowing I'm going back to school... Yes I graduated! But I'm sure most of you knew that. I have recently been working on something new so once that is finished I will post it asap! So work is coming, I have not completely given up on art (hopefully that will never happen). Wishing all the best to you all!

Fox and the Robin

Here is the final illustration for my Decorative Illustration class. It is taken from a story of a fox who tries to lure a Robin out of a tree by telling it that the animal kingdom has a new law of all animals living together in harmony and never to harm each other, of course the robin doesn't fall for it. It was done in Corel Painter with some editing in Photoshop.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Thanksgiving is officially over so I thought it appropriate to post this and start off the holiday fun! This was for my Decrative Illustration class, the assignment was to create a table place mat and a napkin to go along with it.
Here is the place mat, if you haven't been able to tell already I love animals and seals are one of my fav and what's cutter than a baby seal celebrating Christmas?

The napkin to go along with it. Both of these were done in Corel painter and I did a little editing in Photoshop.
